Nik is a 2001 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High. After graduation Nik attended Iowa State University where he graduated in 2005. Nik is married to his wife Katie, and they have three children- Sam (13), Lou (10) and Mack (9) who all attend schools in the Fort Dodge Community School District.  Nik was hired as the Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation Director in the Spring of 2020. He was also named as the head Dodger Football coach in 2020 after serving as an assistant coach for 13 years. 

Prior to being named as the Foundation Director, Nik worked in the finance industry in the Fort Dodge area. Nik is heavily involved in the Fort Dodge community where he currently volunteers on the Downtown Development committee, Swing for a Cure, the Fort Dodge Athletic Booster Club and Habitat for Humanity.
