Hope Brown, Past President

Hope Brown joined the FDCS Foundation Board in January 2018, excited for the opportunity to support teachers and students in opportunities that enhance and extend learning. A former FDSH science teacher, Hope earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Drake University and her master's degree in science education from The University of Iowa. She and her husband, Ryan, have two children; daughter, Clara, and son, Kelvin (deceased).

“The success of the Foundation is a reflection of the extent to which the Fort Dodge community cares for the FDCSD. Because of the financial support of community members and businesses, each year the Foundation is able to fund requests from educators across the district, enriching the academic, fine arts, and athletic experiences of students.”

Kelly Hinds, President

Kelly Hinds joined the Foundation Board in 2020. She grew up in Nashua, Iowa, but has lived in Fort Dodge since 2000. Kelly is married to Jeff, and together they have 6 kids, Tristen, Jackson, Karlan, Greyson, Solomon & Harrison.

Kelly serves as the Chief Operating Officer at One Vision. In addition to her professional role, she has dedicated her time to numerous boards and commissions across the state, including those focused on employment initiatives and advocacy for individuals with disabilities, local human rights efforts, Youth Shelter Care, early education booster clubs and leadership development through the Growth Alliance's Leadership and High School Junior Leadership programs.

“Education plays such an important role to human development; the relationship education has with growth and progress within our community is truly amazing. Early years are the foundation of future development and how our schools, teachers, and staff can provide such a strong foundation for lifelong learning is incredible. I am honored to be on the Foundation board where we can support educators and students through grants for professional development, technology, and other educational needs."

Sarah Marsh, Secretary

Sarah Marsh serves as the Vice President of Finance Operations for UnityPoint Health. Her and her husband, Jerad, live in Fort Dodge with their three children, Bo, Meg and Mac who attend the Fort Dodge Public Schools.

Working in healthcare, she understands what it is like to run a business that operates at the mercy of the payor. Seventy percent of the hospital's patient population has government insurance, Medicaid and Medicare, which hardly covers the cost of healthcare services. Our public schools have similar challenges; therefore, she understands the importance philanthropy plays in supplementing operations. Philanthropic dollars are needed now, more than ever before, so that our youth can have modern technology, curricula and other supporting resources that maximize their learning experience. This helps to ensure they remain excited and engaged in learning so they can have a successful future in a community. As a business professional and parent, it's important to Sarah to support the mission of the Foundation, which is the ability to go above and beyond the traditional funding sources so that educators can go above and beyond to support our youth!

Cole Jaeschke

Cole Jaeschke is a Financial Planner and co-owner of Full Swing Financial Planning, based in Fort Dodge. In addition to his professional career, Cole is deeply involved in his community, serving on the Fort Dodge Golf Association and volunteering as a coach for various youth sports.

"Serving on the board gives me the chance to give back to the community and positively impact the lives of its youth," Cole says. "My wife and I are proud to raise our family in Fort Dodge, and we're committed to contributing to the growth and success of the Fort Dodge Community School Foundation."

Stefanie Koenig

Stefanie Koenig is a Fort Dodge native and is the Manager of Oncology and Infusion Services at UnityPoint Health Fort Dodge.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Communications from Northwest Missouri State University.  Stefanie is married to Jonathan Koenig who teaches and coaches for the Fort Dodge Community School District. Together they have 2 children, Jax and Josiah.

"From a young age, I learned the value and responsibility of giving back. As a member of the Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation Board, I'm honored and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to our school community. I've witnessed firsthand the positive impact the Foundation has on both our students and educators. By ensuring our schools have the resources they need, we're laying a strong foundation for Dodger families, both today and in the future!"

Mary Kay, a native of Fort Dodge, graduated from FDSH in 1994. She earned her degree in Interior Design with a minor in Design Studies from Iowa State University in 2000. Post-graduation, she worked in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Iowa City before returning to Fort Dodge to join her family's business, Daniel Pharmacy. In 2005, she launched Mary Kay's Gifts and Home Decor adjacent to the pharmacy. In 2018, she expanded her business to include a Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio within the shop.

An engaged community member, Mary Kay actively participates in the community she cherishes. She serves on the boards of Main Street Fort Dodge, Fort Dodge Noon Rotary, St. Mark's Episcopal Church, and Downtown Development.

This year marks her inaugural term on the FDCS board. Having volunteered at the Go Big, Go Dodgers event, she became acquainted with fellow board members and the foundation's mission to support students and teachers. With fond memories of her own school days, she aspires to ensure a positive experience for all students and is eager to contribute to her new role on the board.
