Legacy Planning

Dear Education Supporter,

Ordinary people are showing extraordinary generosity by leaving legacy gifts to charity in their wills and estate plans. Kindness is evident in people from all walks of life – with different income levels, professions, and passions. You can help the next generation of students have an amazing education experience by including the Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation in your estate plan.

The lasting impression of a charitable contribution can be  set up several different ways through your estate plan. Charitable contributions are 100% tax deductible.

The easiest way to include the Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation in your estate would be through a simple bequest naming the foundation as a beneficiary in your will. Another strategy that could be used is to name the foundation the beneficiary of a life insurance policy. A Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) could be even more beneficial for you than a simple bequest. CRT’s offer flexibility, an income stream for life or possibly just a term of years for the donor, not to mention the significant tax benefits to you and your heirs.

The types of estate planning listed above are just a few strategies that could be used to give to the Fort Dodge Community School District Foundation. If you are considering engaging in charitable estate planning, contact the foundation or an attorney who specializes in estate planning.

Thank you for considering the Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation in your legacy planning,
