Fort Dodge Comm. Schools Foundation Director Resigns
Molly Nelson was hired as the first Director in October of 2017
The Fort Dodge Community Schools (FDCS) Foundation announces that Director Molly Nelson has resigned. Nelson was hired in October of 2017 to be the first paid Director of the FDCS Foundation.
“We (the board) thank Molly for her time and efforts in growing awareness of the Foundation,” said FDCS Foundation President Jen Pederson. “We have seen how having a Director in place can really increase the impact the Foundation has on education and we are excited to continue that with the next Director.”
The FDCS Foundation recently announced that the annual “Go Big, Go Dodgers” event raised more $80,000 with attendance at nearly 400 people. Both numbers are the highest in recent memory, according to board members. The event was held Fri., April 5th at Fort Frenzy.
“Community support for the Foundation is amazing,” said Nelson. “It’s been an honor and a privilege to help enhance education for the district my husband and I graduated from and that my four children will be educated in. My family and I will continue to support the amazing work the board and the Foundation are doing to help educators and students go above and beyond in the classroom.”
Nelson will pursue an opportunity in marketing and communications for a retirement planning company.
