First Grade Students Program Robots

FDCS Foundation Funded Projects 0 February 25, 2019

Gifts to the Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation helped Cooper Elementary School Teacher Jeanna Gronbach add six programmable robots to her classroom. The other first grade class at Cooper also added six of the robots. The robots, called CleverBots, can be programmed to speak, navigate and launch.

“The kids are working together, they have to problem-solve they have to communicate," said Gronbach. “They also have to learn to fail, which is huge for a lot of these kids."

First grade students Paige Walstrom said she loves to fun stuff with her CleverBot.

“I programmed it to say Mrs. G is the best teacher ever," said Walstrom.

Gronbach said this wouldn’t be possible without gifts to the Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation.

“We appreciate the Foundation and everybody that has donated," said Gronbach.
