Test Drive Event Raises $2440 for Fort Dodge Community Schools
More than 100 people participated in the Ford Test Drive Event
The Ford Drive 4 Ur School test drive event raised $2440 for the Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation.
“We are so grateful to Fort Dodge Ford Toyota for hosting this event and to the people who came out to take a test drive,” said FDCS Foundation President Andrea DeJong. “In most cases in about 15 minutes or less, they were able to test drive a brand new car and support education.”
The event was held Saturday August 18th at Fort Dodge Ford Toyota. More than 100 people participated. Each test drive earned the FDCS Foundation $20 from Ford Motor Company.
“It was a lot of fun,” said Fort Dodge Ford Toyota General Manager Matt Johnson. “Those who attended got to drive a brand new Ford or any of the other 300 or so models on the lot in a fun, laid back environment, all while helping schools. We (Fort Dodge Ford) were happy to host the event, supporting our schools is an important piece of
supporting our community.
Johnson said Ford Drive 4 Ur School events are held all over the country.
The FDCS Foundation will use the donation to help educators and students go above and beyond what district funding allows by providing grants for professional development, technology and other educational items. Generous donations allowed the FDCS Foundation to grant $36,000 to classrooms during the 2017-18 school year for things like robots, metalworking machinery, PE heart rate monitors and more.
